Wheat Flour or Plain Flour 2 Cups
Oil 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Water as you required
Chickpea Flour 1 Cup
Coriander Seeds 2 tbsp (Crushed)
Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Cumin 1 tsp
Yellow Food Color 1/2 tsp
Red Food Color 1/4 tsp
Pomogranate Seeds 1 tbsp
Button Red Chilli 1 tsp
Black Salt 1 tsp
Moong Dal 1/2 Cup (Soaked for 2 Hours)
Step 1: Take a bowl and add Wheat Flour or Plain Flour 2 Cups and then add Salt and mix it well and then add Oil and mix it well and then knead it with as you required water. Knead simple regular dough. After that rest it for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Now take a bowl and add Chickpea Flour, Red Chilli Powder, Cumin, Yellow Food Color, Red Food Color, Button Red Chilli, Black Salt and mix it well and then add 1 beaten egg and mix it with as you required water. Batter should be normal not too thick and not too thin.
Step 3: Now go for making katlama. Take a large size karahi or you can take a simple fry pan and add oil for dip fry and preheat it. Now make balls of the dough depend on your pan/karahi size and rolling it and then spread it with the batter (from step 2) and then sprinkle Moong Dal, Pomogranate Seeds, Coriander Seeds as you required and press it and set it well. Now fry it from both sides. Your Lahori Katlama is Ready.
